Master class at economy with a review of a basic strum pattern.

Sometimes you have to say a lot to say a little.  Sometimes when you say a little it says a lot.  As we learn to communicate these ideas become more and more important.  In the language of music there are many examples of using these ideas.  Here are a few very effective ways of communicating in the language of music by a few masters of the language.

Nile Rodgers.   Quite a resume as songwriter, player and producer/arranger in the 70s associated with disco but Chic and the artist they backed were very funky.  Nile, Bernard Edwards and the rest of the band were some of the best of the 70s.  Here are some essential tips on playing and although Nile is a total pro you can start trying some of them out now.



Here's yours truly with a more basic pattern, the one I refer to as the "Money Pattern" but others call the folk strum, etc.   Practice at least half of your practice time with a metronome or drum machine. Keep the volume high for the reference source, either this video or the drum machine by itself, especially at first.
