What you must do at home to make the most of your lesson time. pt 1

For best results, set up a "work station" at home. This is space dedicated to practice and guitar. It should be quiet and free of distractions. It should have your music stand at arms reach and eye level, your CD player within arms reach and your amplifier nearby (if you use one).  This is extremely important. How you set up your environment has a huge influence on long term results and success.  It is another one of those things the student must do at home to make the most of weekly lessons and get your money's worth from your instructor as it is a direct way of using what is taught in lessons efficiently.  It does not have to be (and shouldn't be) the only place you play but it is critically important to have some consistent structure in your practice routine to see consistent long term progress.
